Tuesday, Dec. 22 - the Vatican

We spent most of the day at the Vatican Museum, but had an hour or two to spend at the Vatican as well.

 It leaves you speechless.

The Pieta in St Peter's.

The interior nativity scene.  We didn't get to see the larger one outside by the tree.  

In  Italy, the baby Jesus in not placed in the crib until Christmas day, and then the nativity scene is left until Epiphany about January 6.
