Sunday, August 2 - Silver City

We met with Bill and Sharon Crownover, who are Sowers working as staff at Hope House, and we drove in the afternoon to Silver City, an old silver mining town.  Little did we realize that we would have to drive 50 miles up and down hills on dirt roads to get there.  It was worth it though.

These are some of the buildings we saw...

Down main street, the masonic lodge and the church.

The Ida-Hotel, where we ate some delicious home-made pie, a la mode!

Saturday, August 8 - Owyhee County Rodeo

Owyhee county was having its county fair and its annual rodeo this weekend just about 15 miles away, so how could we refuse to go?

They had children rodeo clowns for the mutton busting...

These horses were tough...

But some of the riders were tougher...

Later, we had the ladies doing barrel racing, guys dropping calves, but it got too dark to take pictures of the teen's steer riding, and the men's bull riding.

Overall, a great show!

This little dove became our friend at Hope House.  Very friendly, and completely unafraid:
